At the Airport

So, I've decided to blog about my travels in India to justify having brought my laptop with me.  I was originally going to put this on facebook (or, as Judy Penetcost calls it, "facepage") but decided that years of indiscriminate friend-adding really had created too wide an audience.  Also, I wasn't really sure what a blog was until I googled it.

In any case, I am currently waiting at the airport.  Jet Airways has escorted me to the bowels of EWR into some drop ceiling room and told me someone would definitely come get me when the time was ready.  I was suspicious (mostly about the grammar) until they offered me two delicious glasses of champs and a pastrami and whole-grain mustard sandwich.  Then I noticed all the furniture that I can't afford and the sign and partition indicating that I am better than the business class people.  Sense of entitlement rising...

I am very tired, but super excited about my trip.  I definitely wanted to get on India time as quickly as possible but was worried about being able to fall asleep on the plane.  So, I took an Ambien for the first time last night.  After getting way less sleep than no Ambien at all and apparently waking up in the middle of the night to yell "BUT THE FLIGHT IS ON MY CREDIT CARD" and to smash my lip into the window sill next to my bed, I am now sufficiently exhausted to fall asleep the minute I get on that plane.  Kudos Ambien.  Works every time.

Anyhow, having not left America yet, I don't have much else to say.  I'll try to write more from Brussels, if time allows.  I hear they give good layover there.

P.S. Monkey sightings = 0.  And counting.

  1. I find it bizarre that you are on your way, and I still have an event tonight and a full day of work tomorrow. You lucky bastard.
